Chapter 1: Hosea Marries Gomer

In the first chapter of Hosea, God tells the prophet Hosea to marry Gomer, even though she will not remain faithful to him. Hosea obeys God’s command, and his marriage becomes a picture of how the people of Israel have turned away from God by worshipping other gods. 

Later, Gomer gives birth to three children, Jezreel, Lo-Ruhaah, and Lo-Ammi. God gives each child a special name to deliver a message of warning and judgement to Israel. 

Chapter 2: Israel’s Unfaithfulness and God’s Promise

Chapters 4 to 6: Israel Rejects God and Faces Judgement
