The Book of Joel is the twenty-third book of the Bible and is a short yet impactful book. Written by the prophet Joel, it focuses on themes of natural disaster and divine restoration.
The Book of Joel can be divided into two main parts:
Part 1: Calamity and Fasting (Chapters 1-2): This section describes the devastation caused by a severe locust plague. Joel calls the people to fasting and prayer in response to this calamity.
Part 2: Restoration and Hope (Chapter 3): Here, Joel prophesies about the coming of the Lord’s day and the promise of restoration. It also includes a prophecy about the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
The Book of Joel delivers a message of turning to God and maintaining hope during times of distress. It highlights God’s mercy and the power of restoration.
