Habakkuk is a small yet profound prophetic book in the Old Testament. It reflects the dialogue between the prophet Habakkuk and God. Habakkuk was troubled by the increasing injustice and wickedness in his time and questioned why God tolerated such evils.
Key Verses Habakkuk 1:2-3 says, “How long, O Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, ‘Violence!’ but you do not save. Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrongdoing?”
Despite his struggles, Habakkuk ultimately stands firm in faith and trusts in God’s plan. Habakkuk 2:4 states, “See, the enemy is puffed up; his desires are not upright—but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness.”
Main Message The book of Habakkuk teaches us the importance of remaining steadfast in faith, especially during difficult times. It reminds us that God’s plans are beyond our understanding, but they are always for the good.
