The Book of Obadiah is the shortest book in the Old Testament, consisting of just one chapter. It focuses on the condemnation of the nation of Edom, which was a brother nation to Israel but took advantage of Israel’s misfortune.
Obadiah criticises Edom’s pride and cruelty, highlighting their wrongdoing against Israel. Despite this, Obadiah also expresses hope for Israel’s future restoration, assuring that God will not forget His people and will restore them.
Though brief, the Book of Obadiah carries a significant message, showcasing both God’s justice and mercy.
