1 Kings is the tenth book of the Bible, recounting the beginning of King Solomon’s reign and the eventual division of the Israelite kingdom into two parts.
Part 1: Solomon’s Reign (Chapters 1-11)

Solomon’s Downfall: Due to his many marriages and idolatry, Solomon angers God.
Part 2: Division of the Kingdom (Chapters 11-12)
Jeroboam’s Rebellion: After Solomon’s death, Jeroboam leads a rebellion of ten tribes of Israel.
Formation of Two Kingdoms: The once unified kingdom splits into two — Israel in the north and Judah in the south.
The book of 1 Kings marks a significant turning point in Israel’s history, from a unified monarchy to a divided kingdom. It highlights the importance of leadership, obedience, and God’s faithfulness.
